Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 7–12 years of progressive experience in chemical or process engineering, ideally within the nuclear, power generation, oil & gas, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex chemical processes, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Proven track record of leading process R&D, safety assessments, and chemical validation activities.
  • Experience with industrial chemicals, corrosion control, waste management, or water chemistry systems will be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Required Education Level:
    Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline from a recognized university.
  • Preferred Education Level:
    Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Industrial Chemistry.
  • Professional certifications or memberships (e.g., IChemE, Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities and Skills

  • Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes to meet project and safety requirements.
    • Conduct thermodynamic and kinetic analyses to model chemical reactions and process behavior.
    • Lead experimental studies and interpret analytical data for process improvement.
    • Ensure all designs and activities comply with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) and regulatory standards.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, process, quality, and project management).
    • Supervise junior engineers and provide technical mentorship and reviews.
    • Manage project documentation, including reports, safety cases, and process control manuals.
    • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies relevant to chemical and materials innovation.
  • Required Skills:

    • Strong background in chemical thermodynamics, reaction engineering, heat & mass transfer, and fluid dynamics.
    • Proficiency with simulation and modeling software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, MATLAB, or CHEMCAD).
    • Knowledge of industrial chemical safety practices and risk assessments (HAZOP, HAZID).
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and within interdisciplinary engineering teams.
    • Proficiency in English, Malayalam, Hindi, and Arabic.
  • Preferred Skills:

    • Background in nuclear or radiochemical processes.
    • Familiarity with corrosion control, materials compatibility, and chemical monitoring systems.
    • Experience in data-driven process analysis using modern digital tools.
    • Demonstrated leadership in technical documentation and regulatory compliance.
